Exporting Data from Kayako to Power BI

Overview

Kayako has a native tool called Insights that will let you obtain all types of useful information for your team's performance. However, you may want to work with third-party analytics tools like Power BI, and export data from Kayako.

Information

There are multiple ways in which Kayako can be integrated with third-party applications.

Manual Export of Custom Reports

You can generate custom reports into CSV files, export them manually to Power BI, and build any Power BI report you like. The article Interpreting Custom Reports Columns contains a complete list of the information that can be obtained from Custom Reports.

API and Endpoints

Using the Kayako API, you will be able to extract any information in the system in the form of JSON objects, which you can then work with to obtain refined information. As explained in the Finding Documentation for the Kayako API article, all relevant information for the Kayako API can be found in our Developer Portal.

Kayako also offers the option of using Endpoints to send Emails, as well as HTTP requests to custom URLs. This may help you send information to Power BI's own RESTful API. You can find more information about Endpoints in our article on Sending Messages and Notifications to External Systems With Endpoints.

Integration with Zapier (upcoming)

Another way in which Kayako may be connected with third-party applications is through Zapier, an app integration service that lets you build automations through numerous apps. Note, that there's an Upcoming Power BI integration that hasn't yet been implemented. You can find more information about Zapier and Kayako in our article on Connecting Kayako to Other Apps with Zapier.
