Enabling or Disabling Comments on Help Center Articles

Overview

Commenting can be enabled or disabled on Help Center articles. The option to "allow comments" is enabled by default when creating a new article which allows your users to add or leave comments on the article. You may edit existing articles to disable commenting. This feature can be turned on and off at any time.


 

Prerequisites

  • To edit an article, you will need an agent or admin account with the "Create and edit articles" permission.

 


 

Solution

To enable or disable commenting on existing articles:

  1. Sign in to Kayako and access the agent area.

  2. Click the Help Center icon from the sidebar menu or access it by going directly to https://yourdomain.kayako.com (replace 'yourdomain' with your actual Kayako domain name.)

  3. Find and click the article you want to change or edit.

  4. Click the Edit article button.

  5. Check or uncheck the box next to "Allow comments" to enable or disable the function.

    NOTE: When creating new articles, this tick box is checked by default. Uncheck it if you wish to disable the commenting option.

  6. Click Update to save the changes.

Confirmation

If you enable commenting on an article, users will be able to leave a comment in the 'Add a comment' field at the bottom of the article.
